Artist Statement

We are all born alone. Though from the very beginning every person seeks companionship and company. This natural inclination is kept through every stage of our life. Often people who are alone or in isolation convey a sense of abandonment or loneliness, whereas people in partnership or in tandem are seen as being more comfortable.

With my photographs I wanted to explore how our perception of being alone or together changes as we get older.

Dodging and Burning

I was just looking through my photographs thinking about my theme and I realized how much dodging and burning I have done… I actually really like doging and burning now!!

Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships.
